Our engineering team is responsible for delivering the premiere whole-home movie and music entertainment experience – an array of consumer electronics products that we design from bottom to top, including both software and hardware. Kaleidescape has won numerous industry awards and we are highly regarded for creating innovative, well-designed products.

The Kaleidescape User Experience team is looking for a Senior Interaction Designer to design and create rich user experiences. Interaction Designers are responsible for the look, feel, and functionality of the Kaleidescape user experience. Our team offers an environment where you can stretch your skills and an opportunity to fundamentally change the way people enjoy entertainment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designing innovative hardware and software interaction solutions that meet business, project, and design goals for products that reach a global market
  • Creating the user experience for Kaleidescape products, taking into account market analysis, customer feedback, usability issues, and your own experience with what makes a user interface effective and intuitive
  • Creating innovative product experiences through hardware and software solutions
  • Leading the development of processes and strategies that enhance the Interaction Design teams contribution to the business
  • Creating and maintaining User Experience specifications
  • Produce Adobe Flash prototypes of the experience you designed
  • Gain stakeholder approval throughout the design process

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong visual and interaction design skills. Good understanding of designing for a combination of hardware and software
  • Sensitivity to the physical, cognitive, emotional, and cultural needs of the people who use Kaleidescape products
  • Experience designing software user interface solutions for consumer electronic platforms displayed on a television or projector
  • Proficiency with Adobe Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Ability to work cross-discipline with User Experience team members, Engineering, and Marketing
  • Ability to effectively explain, persuade, negotiate, and monitor design solutions
  • Ability to assess, prioritize and make trade-offs against business and technical constraints and user scenarios
  • Ability to contribute effectively to concurrent projects and the ability to lead multiple design programs
  • A BA/BS degree in Human Factors, Interaction Design, Information Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in designing high-quality products within a team environment
  • A design portfolio showing strong creative and problem solving skills, the ability to generate solid design and user interface solutions, and an illustration of design and creative process
