JOB DESCRIPTION:

Kaleidescape is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to help support our expansion in our core markets with the technical knowledge required to integrate and install Kaleidescape Systems for a variety of residential environments. This position will report to the Manager of Technical Services and be part of the company's Sales organization.

The Systems Engineer will provide dealers with pre-sales technical consultancy, classroom and small group education, and post-sales support. Successful candidates will be hands-on, capable of working independently, and able to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Projects will include:

  • Identify key areas of knowledge required by dealers and other manufacturers of custom electronic products throughout the North American market and develop suitable course and reference material.
  • Develop training materials, including PowerPoint presentations and narrated Camtasia presentations.
  • Deliver live training in a classroom environment for dealers throughout the North American market, including events in hotels, dealer facilities and at trade shows.
  • Deliver instructor-led online training via GoToWebinar and GoToMeeting.
  • Increase the level of understanding of the product category among Kaleidescape sales personnel through research, competitive analyses and technical notes.
  • Create advocates for the Kaleidescape System throughout the dealer organization.
  • Write application notes and contribute to the Kaleidescape Knowledge Base to provide answers to problems, issues and useful tips on a 24x7 basis.

This role requires great channel management skills as well as creativity and attention to detail. Ideas and suggestions from Kaleidescape dealers need to be evaluated, understood and passed on to product management for product and process improvement. The Systems Engineer will also be involved in product and process improvements, working closely with Technical Support, Engineering, product management, technical documentation and sales tools, trade show support and other projects as required.

This position requires greater than 50% overnight travel within North America, as well as additional travel to Kaleidescape facilities in Sunnyvale, CA and Waterloo, ON and various industry trade shows and other events. Therefore, a valid passport is required. When not traveling, the Systems Engineer will support the Kaleidescape sales team and dealer base from a home office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ethics, humility, integrity, intelligence and accountability.

The right candidate should be experienced in explaining technical concepts in person, via telephone and over the Internet using leveraged presentation tools. At least 3 years of experience is desired in the design, programming and installation of distributed audio/video systems, custom home entertainment solutions, TCP/IP networks and control systems.

Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills are a must. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential; this includes the field organization, key members of management and a variety of internal organizations. The ideal candidate must be an innovative problem-solver and a self-starter who requires minimal direct supervision.

A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science or a related discipline is desired. Industry certification(s) from the CEDIA / NSCA EST or InfoComm CTS programs are preferred, as is certification in Crestron and / or AMX programming.
